PDXI Vs Cavalry Sports (20 Over Match)
Cavalry won comfortably in a low scoring fixture against PDXI by 3 wickets at NED University.
PDXI batted first and were off to a poor start losing Fasihullah for a duck and soon his opening partner Nabeel Akram followed him and they both were runout. Shehbaz and Abdul Wasiq then got together and they began the repair work and slowly they brought their side back on track with their nice little partnership. Shehbaz with 1 six and 3 fours scored 30 whereas Abdul Wasiq scored 18. Once the two batsmen were dismissed the late little cameos from Ali and Haque ended innings for PDXI on 135 which gave them a slight opportunity.
The chase for Cavalry was off to a worst possible start as they lost 2 quick wickets both for 1st ball duck. Shehbaz Muhammad was in fine bowling form as he dismissed the entire top order with his brilliant opening spell which created panic inside Cavalry’s camp. Though, Hamza and Wasim rescued the sinking ship and they bought the energy back in their team with their much needed partnership. Hamza played a sensible and a very handy knock of 51 whereas Wasim’s quick cameo of 30 of 18 helped their side to get over the line with almost 2 overs to spare.
