Classic Barbarians Vs The Team (ACM Gold Night T20 Cup)
Classic Barbarians defended 168 comfortably against The Team to win by 12 runs at Moin Khan Ground.
Barbarians batted first and were off to a reasonable start with their openers, Kamil and Rehan looking in good touch as they milked the bowlers around and smashed the loose ball to the boundaries. Both were set and going along nicely, they contributed over 50 runs together which provided a great platform for rest of the batsmen. Rehan with 1 six scored 37 whereas scored 22 with 3 fours. After their dismissal, Barbarians wanted someone to take advantage of the platform given by the openers and it was the duo of Umair and Saad who smashed the bowlers in the ending stages. They both remained not out in the end and scored 45 and 36 respectively to take their side to a very respectable 168.
The target was a good one from Classic Barbarians but the openers from The Team were up for the challenge. Both Daniyal and Faisal were in sweet touch and were just dealing in boundaries. Daniyal scored 24 out of which he scored 22 in boundaries whereas Faisal scored 28 with 1 four and 2 sixes. After a blistering start, Classic Barbarians pegged them back in the middle overs and did not allow the middle order to score much against them. This pushed The Team away from the target though Adnan and Shah Qureshi tried to bring their side back in the game with their little cameos but it was too little too late as they fell short by 12 runs.
