Clifton Cricket Club Vs Avengers Cricket Club (20 Over Match)
A clinical performance from Clifton Cricket Club sealed a 32 runs victory over Avengers Cricket Club at RLCA.
Clifton Cricket Club batted first and were off to a great start with their openers Shezad and Shan looking in great touch. Both smashed the bowlers around the park as they both hit 4 boundaries and were looking in brilliant touch. Their partnership was growing and it added extra pressure on Avengers bowlers, but the bowlers came back well and dismissed them in their 20s. The innings then had some hiccups as the bowlers came back strongly in the contest and put the brakes on the scoring rate. Clifton Cricket Club wanted a bright end to their innings and just like the start their end was also a brilliant one with Adnan and Salman leading the way. Adnan hit 5 fours during his innings of 26 whereas Salman managed to score 20 with 2 fours. With this Clifton managed to score a very big 178 in their 20 overs.
Avengers innings was not off to a great start as they lost their opener quite early in the innings but Qaiser Atiq on the other end was in good touch. Qaiser held the one end whereas from other end Avengers kept on losing wickets. Qaiser was the only batsman fighting for his side, during his innings of 60, he smashed 3 sixes and 7 fours at a strike rate of 162. He was the lone warrior until he was partnered by Sarwar, he scored 37 but unfortunately for Avengers it was not enough as they wanted other batsmen to fire as well because they were chasing a big score but that was not the case and in the end they fell short by 32 runs.
