Viper XI batted first in the season opener putting on a solid display with the bat. Openers Waqas and Shoukat Riaz contributed valuable runs with the bat, scoring 35 and 38 runs respectively. With the team already in a solid position, Usama Naseer stepped in to fuel the momentum further with a blistering 43 run cameo that ended in a tragic run out. Crushers bowlers did well to fight back with Danish Riaz leading the attack, taking 3 wickets. He was supported by Farhan Ijaz who also took 2 wickets in his spell. Viper XI set a target of 183 in 20 overs.
Crushers were off to a disastrous start in their chase, losing opener Bashar Ashfaq off the first ball for duck. Mohsin then stepped in to lead the recovery, scoring a match winning knock of 52 runs to pull his team right back in the game. Wickets fell regularly but all round contributions by the chasing side kept the scoreboard ticking. Viper's bowlers Faraz Rafique and Shiraz Anwer struck with the ball, taking a combined 5 wickets, fighting hard to defend their team's total. Crushers eventually chased down the target in 19.1 overs.
