Shamsher Khan CC Vs Rising Star CC
15th challengers cup
Shamsher Khan CC batted first and were off to a reasonable start as their openers batted cautiously to start with but did not throw their wickets away. Umair Ghaffar was the aggressive partner in the opening partnership and he scored 34 of just 24 balls with 3 fours and 1 six, his opening partner Usman Nasir scored 21 of 25 balls with 1 four and 1 six. Once the openers were dismissed the middle order took the score forward. First, Fahad partnered with Rehan who scored 17 of 15 and then with Zia who managed to score 26 of 21 with 2 sixes to propel the score forward. Fahad Jabbar scored 25 of 18 balls. Shamsher Khan CC batsmen got starts but none could really convert them into big and one reason for that was Talha Ahsan who bowled his heart out and was the pick of the bowler, picking up 3 for 20, Mustafa and Mansoor picked up 2 each. In the end, Shamsher Khan scored 148 in their 20 overs.
The response from Rising Star was not off to a best of starts, as they lost 3 top order wickets without much contribution from them. The opening bowlers from Shamsher Khan CC were on fire, both, Noman and Farhan picked up 2 wickets each. But no bowler could manage to trouble the next batsmen, Danish and Shumail. Both gave Rising Star a much-needed stability with their partnership. Shumail Aziz scored 30 of 26 balls with 3 fours and his partner Danish Fattani was unstoppable, he scored 68 of just 49 balls with 2 massive sixes to give side a very close victory in last over by 4 wickets.
