Dollar East Win Convincingly


Karachi Smashers were up against a star studded lineup of Dollar East Exchange Company. And it was men against boys, as the vastly experienced Dollar East Exchange Company had no troubles against their opponents. Batting first Dollar East Exchange Company were off to an excellent start. Both openers timed the ball perfectly and found the fence every now and then. Nadeen Javaid scored 37 runs off 40 balls while Usman Qadi score 20 off 18. The fall of the openers had no effect on the scoring rate, as Tariq Haroon and former test skipper Salman Butt continued the assault. The stylish left hander scored 30 runs off just 21 balls. Tariq Haroon missed his half century by 7 runs as he scored 43 runs off 38 balls. Moeed Khan managed to take 2 wickets while 1 wicket apiece was taken by Rehan Tanoli, Zaheer Ahmed and Abdul Haseeb.
Dollar East’s composed batting display ended with a total score of 159 runs for 5 wickets after 20 overs.

Things did not start off well for Karachi Smashers as they lost opening batsman Muhammad Awais for a duck. A fine bowling performance by the Dollar East Exchange Company bowlers, did not allow Karachi Smashers to gain any momentum. Wickets kept falling from one end while Saeed Mutair kept on toiling for runs on the other end. But soon he also fell prey to the vicious bowling attack, after scoring a run a ball 38 run knock. Kashif Bhatti took 3 for 18 while 2 wickets each were taken by Usman Qadir, Muhammad Zubair and Saadat Munir. Salman Butt rolled his arm and got a wicket as well. It was the 18th over when Karachi Smashers were all out for just 75 runs. Dollar East Exchange Company won the match by 84 runs.
