EFU General Insurance went against TPL Insurance on 25th December at IBA Cricket Ground.
Abdul Wahab and Hussain Mustafa Bhojwala opened the innings for EFU and scored 22 and 12 runs respectively. Intikhab Ahmed was the star batter, as he added 44 runs to the score and remained not out. In addition to this, cameos by Nadeem Baig and Arsalan Ashraf were also crucial. Anas Yousufi bagged 2 wickets while Syed Ather Ahmed Jafri and Syed Yawar Hussain Rizvi took a wicket each. Hence, EFU posted a total of 172 runs at the loss of 5 wickets.
The top three batters of TPL displayed an underwhelming effort, as they scored a collective of 4 runs. Ammar Baqir smashed 70 runs, hitting 1 four and 6 sixes. However, he got caught in a run out by Umar Shafi. Hence, the bowlers took over and halted the batters’ momentum. Muhammad Ahmed Kanani took 3 wickets while Bhojwala dismissed 2 batters.
As a result, EFU defended their score and won the match by 26 runs in the 20th over.
