Elegante went against Royal Strikers on 24th September at Rashid Latif Cricket Academy Ground.
Ghulam Mustafa and Agha Muhammad Shah opened the innings for Elegante. Ghulam scored 47 off 44 balls, while Agha was caught out on Usman Salim’s ball at 11 runs. Salman Yousuf and Asad Sumar caused the fall of two more wickets each. Zubair Ahmed and Naveed Nagda played cameos, scoring in twenties. Hence, leading the team to a score of 123 runs only.
Abdul Basit Ghauri and Uzair Aslam opened the second innings, determined to chase the score. However, both got out on low scores of 11 and 10 respectively. The batters lost their momentum, as the bowlers dominated. Asad Fancy was successful in bagging 4 wickets at an economy rate of 6.25. Usama Ejaz and Naveed Nagda bowled 4 overs each and were the most economical bowlers of the innings. The batters were unable to make a significant contribution. Therefore, the bowlers restricted them to a score of 108 runs.
Elegante’s bowlers were successful in defending the total and their team won the match by 15 runs.
