Karachi Patriots faced Falcons at Hillpark cricket ground as part of the 8th residence cup league match. Patriots batted first and openers Aamir Motiwala and Ahmed Usama with 17 and 15 runs respectively got them off to a good start. Haseeb Amin also contributed 18 runs however some extraordinary fielding by Falcons is what ensued next as they took three brilliant catches, accompanied with great line and length bowling by their bowlers to restrict Patriots to 111 all out. Shezad was the pick of the bowlers with 3 wickets while Sumair and Ahsan took 2 wickets each and Imran and Hassan got a wicket each.
In reply, Falcons had a great start as Mir Farhad Khalid was in aggressive mode and took away the game from the opposition with some brilliant shots all around the park. He hit 51 runs off just 23 balls at a strike rate of 222% and his innings included 6 boundaries and 3 sixes. Fayyaz contributed 27 runs and Arsalan knocked 12 runs as Falcons reached their target for the loss of 4 wickets with about 7 overs to spare. For Patriots, Adeel Abbasi, Faisal Butt, Rizwan Merchant and Tayyab r Balagamwala got a wicket each.
