Imran’s stunning spell with the ball followed by breathtaking hitting from the openers helped Engro in a big win against Amadeus Super Cricketers.
Amadeus Super Cricketers batted first and were off to a sensible start with their openers playing well in the initial overs. Shoaib Akhter and Ali Asif batted sensibly in the initial overs and looked set and in good touch. Shoaib Akhter with his magnificent 7 boundaries was looking in good touch before he was dismissed by Mohsin for 37. Ali Asif was also not able to convert his good start into a more expressive score as he was dismissed for just 17. Once the openers were dismissed Engro tightened the grip on the match with Imran Iqbal leading the way, he picked up 4 crucial wickets with a brilliant economy rate and never allowed the batsmen to take charge of the game. With his efforts Engro managed to restrict Amadeus Super Cricketers to just 114.
The impetus was with Engro going into the second innings and they took full advantage of the circumstances. Their openers were off to a blazing start as they spanked the bowlers all around the park during their match winning opening partnership. Irteza in particular was in marvelous hitting form, his innings of 57 included 10 elegant boundaries and one colossal six. Sameer, his opening partner was also not far behind as he too played a supportive role during his quick innings of 27. With this partnership the victory was all but assured for Engro and they got over the line in just 10.5 overs.
