United Fighters made a meal of their contest against Classic XI in the KMPL Night tournament as the match turned into a one-sided affair.
United Fighters batted first with opener Kamran Ibrahim scoring 42 runs off 33 deliveries. The batting side was initially derailed as Imran Tariq picked up two wickets in a short period of time. However, United quickly bounced back with an incredible partnership between Muhammad Arsalan and Danish Ahmed. Ahmed’s blistering knock of 69 off just 33 balls allowed United Fighters to cross the 200 mark, setting the opposition a steep target of 206.
In response, Classic XI’s chase began in a disastrous manner as the top three batsmen collectively managed just 20 runs off 24 deliveries. Nasir Khan and Fayyaz Hussain’s regular strikes prevented the batsmen from scoring any significant runs, with both bowlers picking three wickets each. The second innings lasted all of 14.1 overs, as the Classic XI batsmen were bowled out for just 90 runs.
United Fighters won the match by a substantial margin of 115 runs.
