ICT display a bowling masterclass

ICT vs FBCA

(FC CHALLENGERS CUP MATCH)

It was a bowlers’ day in this fixture of the FC Challengers Cup where ICT and FBCA faced each other and put up a good show.

Batting first, ICT had a shaky start. Batsmen kept on giving away their wickets one after another, and were not able to make any significant partnership. Mir Ali of FBCA was having the time of his life, as the ICT batsmen had no answers for his superb line and length. He finished the game with splendid bowling figures of 5 wickets for 13 runs in his 4 overs. While the ICT batting line up failed to impress, there was one guy who got full marks for his stroke play. Fahad Jabbar scored a flawless knock of 90 runs for which he faced 60 deliveries. His brilliant effort was the reason ICT were able to score 129 runs at the end of the 20th over. FBCA bowlers led by Mir Ali, displayed their class. Shehzad Jamani took 2 wickets while 1 wicket each was claimed by Shehzad Mehar and Ahnaf.

FBCA had a target which could be chased with ease. The only requirement was to play sensibly. But after a display of great bowling from FBCA we saw similar action by the ICT bowlers. They were accurate with their line and length and restricted the FBCA batsmen to retain any control of the game. Timely breakthroughs allowed ICT to maintain a high level of pressure on the FBCA batting line up. It was the deadly duo formed by Idrees Amin and Imran Idrees, which stole the show. Both the bowlers were economical throughout their spells, which increased the troubles for FBCA. Imran Idrees had bowling figures of 3 for 14 in his 4 overs while Idrees Amin claimed 3 wickets for just 11 runs in his 4 overs. Karim Khan tried to shift the momentum back in his team’s side with his innings of 26 runs off 27. But he lacked assistance from the other end. This proved fatal for FBCA as they were all out for 103 in 19.1 overs.

Brilliance from Fahad Jabbar followed by a fine all round bowling performance made ICT victorious by 26 runs.
