Power hitting batting from Iqbal was the key behind Sequre XI victory against Extras. The destructive middle order batsman scored 74 of just 43 balls which helped his side to reach a mammoth total of 204.
It was a 19 over match in which Sequre XI batted first, the start was slow, the openers Taha and Zain could not make much impact as both were dismissed for 16 and 9 runs respectively. After the openers got out, Shah Qureshi was joined by Iqbal, Thet took charge on Extras scoring more than 100 runs between them at a rapid pace. Shah Qureshi was eventually dismissed for 40 of just 23 balls by Asad Shafqat but it allowed Khurram to come in who smashed 4 sixes and scored 32 runs in no time.
With Iqbal (74*), Shah Qureshi(40) and Khurram (32), Sequere XI succeeded to post a total of 204/5 on the board.
The run chase for Extras did not begin in the ideal fashion as they lost their opener Zeeshan Khan for a Golden duck but Rafeh Ahmed and Atif Ahmed tried to rebuilt the innings and for a while they kept up with the required rate, scoring boundaries and timing the ball sweetly which left Sequre XI just a little frustrated but not for long as Rafeh Ahmed and Atif Ahmed were dismissed for 27 and 33 respectively, after them Extras kept losing wickets, Hassan Naqvi tried to resist a bit but it was all too late and Extras were dismissed for 157 in 18 overs losing the game by 47 runs. Affan was the pick of the bowlers as he picked 2 crucial wickets with an economy of just 6.25.
