Al Hamza were up against Jason Sports in the final of the 1st ACME Corporate Cup Final at Naya Nazimabad knowing that one team stood between them and the trophy.
Al Hamza batted first, with Asif(16) and Deedar(19) playing cautiously up front. Zakir Malik accounted for both batsmen as he cleaned them up just when they were starting to look good. Asif(8) was also caught of the bowling of Zakir handing him his third scalp for the night. Al Hamza needed to someone to come in and lift the innings but none of the batsment in the middle order succeeded in doing so as their innings came to a pretty dry end with only one 6 hit in 20 overs by Naveed. They ended up with a below par 113 for 6 and left themselves a lot to do with the ball.
Jason Sports on the other hand stepped out confident that they had done all the hard work by restricting the opposition to a relatively low score and openers Zakir Malik and Ghani Subhan went about chasing the target aggressively to further stamp their dominance on the match. Zakir however fell for a brisk 20 off 9 balls but Subhan continued batting beautifully. His knock of 48 off 28 balls included 4 fours and a massive six and along with Qadir(12)*, he was there at the end to hit the winning runs that sent his team mates into ecstacy.
Jason Sports, after over coming all odds, had finally gotten their hands onto the trophy and they celebrated late into the night much to the dismay of Al Hamza Sports.
