Al Baraka went out to bat in the first innings and they were off to a poor start losing quick wickets at the top order. Vijay from JS Bank was in terrific form as he picked up the top order cheaply with his great bowling. He bowled 4 overs and picked up 3 for 22. The spell from Vijay inspired his team mates and they followed him with good bowling. Taimoor Ali picked up 3 wickets whereas Sohail and Arbab picked up 2 wickets each without giving much away. The innings from Al Baraka was going nowhere until Zafar and Umer came in. They hit some lusty blows during their partnership and scored 29 and 24 respectively at a quick time. Their partnership gave some respite to the total and Al Baraka managed to score 126 in their 20 overs.
It was a modest chase and JS Bank were confident of chasing it. On the other hand, Al Baraka needed some early wickets to stay in the game and that’s exactly what happened when JS Bank lost 2 early wickets which opened the doors for Al Baraka. Taimoor Ali and Kamran then formed a partnership to bring their side back on track and scored 40 and 29 respectively. Taimoor was looking very good as he was batting at a strike rate off 222 but unfortunately, he had to go back to the pavilion for 40. The bowlers were applying pressure from the other end and they were not giving away easy runs. Raheel and Arbab the next two batsmen slowly built a partnership but they were not allowed easy balls to score of as they scored under run a ball. Both took their time but made sure that they do not lose any more wickets. Raheel scored 25 whereas Arbab scored 15, in the end, the game went to the final ball and it was JS Bank who held their nerve and got over the line with 5 wickets remaining.
