KAAF ENGINEERING vs KARACHI SMASHERS

This was a game in which one team totally overpowered the other one. Kaaf Engineering dominated Karachi Smashers throughout the day in all the departments of the game. Kaaf Engineering batted first and had a shaky start. They lost an early wicket but soon recovered from the damage, as Furqan Lohar and Shoaib Mirza made a brilliant partnership. Furqan Lohar scored 47 runs off 38 balls while Shoaib Mirza contributed with 27 runs. Both of them were dismissed by Zakir Afridi, who was the pick of the bowlers. He took 3 wickets for 22 runs in 4 overs. Abdul Haseeb also displayed great form with the ball, as he also claimed 3 wickets for 17 runs in 3 overs. Rest of the Kaaf Engineering batsmen contributed briefly in their limited stints, and in the concluding phases an assault by Arif Yaqoob pushed the score further up. With Arif’s quick fire 24 run knock, Kaaf Engineering finished with 161 for the loss of 9 after 20 overs.
Karachi Smashers started off a bit slow and lost an early wicket. This added the pressure, but Zakir Afridi and Saeed Mutair soon shifted the momentum back. Zakir Afridi scored 35 runs off 24 balls and Saaed Mutair managed to score 37 runs of 30 balls. It seemed as if this duo will easily chase the target. But there was another duo which proved be a source of concern for the batsmen. Zahid Mansoor and Arif Yaqoob were unplayable for the batsmen as they shared 7 wickets among themselves. Zahid Mansoor took 4 wickets for 14 runs in 4 overs while his partner Arif Yaqoob took 3 for 9 in 3 overs. Their exemplary bowling remained a mystery for the batsmen as they had no way to counter this display of great line and length. Karachi Smashers were all out for 114 in the last over and Kaaf Engineering won this match by 47 runs.
