Karachi Fighters Defend 125

KARACHI FIGHTERS vs ALLIANCE SPORTS

15th CHALLENGERS CUP

Karachi Fighters clashed with Alliance Sports in this low scoring fixture of the 15th Challengers Cup. Batting first, Karachi Fighters had a solid start as both openers scored some good runs and made things easier for the upcoming batsmen. Faizan Ur Rehman scored 31 runs off 22 balls while Suleman Ghani scored 23 runs of just 12 balls. Such a start should have been a prelude for great things, but the rest of the batting lineup failed to continue the flow of runs at a similar rate. Ikhtyar Shah and Adnan were the only batsmen who reached the double figures with 18 and 15 runs respectively. Humayon Ghouri had a dream performance with the ball as he took a five wicket haul for just 16 runs. Rao Noman also bowled well and took 3 for 15. Karachi Fighters were all out in the second last over at the score of 125.

Alliance Sports started their innings in a composed manner as openers Muzzamil Mehboob and Khurram Rangila scored runs with no signs of hurry. Muzzamil scored 37 runs off 31 balls while Khurram scored 10 runs off 22 balls. What looked like a strategy to play calmly did not provide fruitful results as the rest of the batting lineup collapsed and failed to chase an easy target. Hassan Ur Rahman performed exceptionally with the ball as he took 5 wickets for just 6 runs. This bowling performance was supported by Saqib Mehmood who got 2 wickets for 12 runs. Alliance Sports were all out for just 95 runs in the 18th over. Karachi Fighters defended a low total successfully and won the match by 30 runs.
