Karachi Stallions crowned champions

Karachi Patriots Vs Karachi Stallions (6th Residence Cup Final)

Karachi Stallions proved their domination when they clinched 6th Residence Cup Final overcoming Karachi Patriots in a one-sided battle by 7 wickets.

The big game turned out to be a one-sided contest as Karachi Stallions fought with all their heart and chased down a very low score in a very emphatic way. Once the winning runs were scored two contrasting emotions were on display. On one hand, Karachi Patriots were ruining this big opportunity of claiming the title and on the other hand, Karachi Stallions were over the moon as they thrashed the Karachi Patriots side and deservingly won the 6th Residence Cup Final.

Surely, Karachi Patriots were better then what they did with the bat when they came out to bat first in this final. Usman Yunus Ghani of Karachi Stallions removed the openers early and jolted the Patriots with these quick wickets upfront. Aamir Motiwala believed that he can bring his side back in the contest as he looked to play cautiously but he kept losing his partners on the other end. Stallions were in full flow as the bowlers were bowling with complete control and fielders were backing them up, their body language showed that they are playing for a win. There was a little partnership between Aamir and Ritchie in the middle overs but such was the dominance of Stallions bowlers as they soon ended the partnership and never let them dictate terms. Hasan Ahmed was the most impressive bowler on show, bowling in a final and bowling with an economy rate of 4.50 is incredible. He not only bowled economically but also showed his class by picking up 4 crucial wickets and this spell put his side on the front as they managed to restrict Patriots to under a 100. Patriots managed to score just 95 in their 20 overs.

It was a rocking performance with the ball which left the batsmen with very less to do. Patriots bowlers had to bowl some miraculous spells to restrict Stallions under 95 but that was not the case as just like the bowlers, Stallions batsmen were motivated and were up for the challenge. Though, the initial 3 wickets were dismissed cheaply but even then such was their command over the match as they were hardly troubled and were on top and complete. Zohaib and Saad then got together and batted with supreme control and completely shut each door for Patriots to come back into the contest. Zohaib scored 33 and 25 runs came from Saad’s bat and the duo took their side to a comfortable 7 wicket win only in 14.3 overs and what followed that were the joyous scenes as Karachi Stallions celebrated this thumping win in a big final and deservedly so.
