KPS Vs Southend Youth ( Southend Premier League )
A stunning innings by Waheed from KPS ensured their victory spot.
KPS faced an early wicket take down, but as Junaid Afzal came one down, he and Fareed Khan played a solid partnership of 37 runs. KPS faced a huge let down by the middle batting order where we got to see very quick dismissals. However, when Waheed stepped on to the field, he played a tremendous innings by scoring 70 runs just off 31 balls. That was when Afnan Karim from the Southend Youth put a stop to his wonderful innings and KPS was able to score a total of 150 runs.
Waheed's inning was able to put up a good score on the score board for the Southend Youth to chase.
Southend Youth were off to a good start and were swiftly pacing towards the chase in which Mustafa Mazhar played a brilliant innings of 62 runs, off 49 balls. But as soon as the top batting order collasped, so did the whole Southend Youth team. Zahid Hussain from KPS was able to pick up 4 wickets, that blocked the opponent team to chase the target. Southend Youth players were all out at a total score of 134.
It was a very close call for the Southend Youth, but in the end it was KPS who emerged victorious with big smiles.
