KAAF ENGINEERING vs KPT (Dollar East Hill Park Ramzan Cricket Tournament)
KAAF Engineering batted first and were off to a slow start. The team struggled against a formidable bowling line up, unable to get runs on the board and keep the scoreboard ticking. Openers Ali Mansoor and Furqan Lohar lost their wickets early on in the innings before Zahid Mansoor stepped in to lead the recovery for his side. He scored an impressive 75 runs, fighting hard against the opposition. However, he received little support on the other end as the rest of the team lost wickets frequently, unable to gain stability at any stage. KPT bowlers bowled a tight line throughout the innings, taking wickets regularly and limiting the flow of runs. Usman Javed and Babar Rehman were the key bowlers, taking 2 wickets each and stumping the opposition. Yasir Hussain also produced a superb bowling performance giving away only 10 runs in his 3 overs with 1 wicket in hand. KAAF Engineering posted a target of 121 for 7 at the end of 20 overs.
With a modest score on the board, KPT were already at an advantage. The team however stumbled early on in the innings, losing opener Anas Mehmood for just 3 runs. Nadeen Javaid and Shah Ali Zafar however kept their wickets intact and the runs flowing with the former scoring a wonderful match winning knock of 59 runs including 4 boundaries and 4 sixes. Shah Ali Zafar played the role of the anchor, contributing a much needed 34 runs. Naved also scored 21 runs to seal the victory for his side. Haidar Ali and Zahid Mansoor picked up a wicket each but were unable to defend their team's low total. KPT eventually chased down the target in 17.5 overs.
KPT won the match by 8 wickets.
