Aga Khan Veterans Vs Lyceum Alumni (22 over Match)

Lyceum Alumni won easily against Aga Khan Veterans by 6 wickets as they chased down 153 in just 20.3 overs.

Aga Khan Veterans batted first and the openers got their team of to a very good start, Anees in particular gave them a solid beginning. His opening partner Aziz left him after scoring 10. Anees held one end and was playing good but he did not get much support from the other end as they kept losing wickets. After losing a few quick wickets at the other end Anees finally got a stable partner in Khurram who scored a useful 30. Anees made a brilliant 64 before he was dismissed by Abdullah Farrouk. But Aga Khan Veterans were not allowed to score freely as Shah Qureshi had a great game with the ball as he picked 2 wickets, he was supported by Abdul Rahim who picked 1 wicket, both the bowlers were very economical. In the end Aga Khan Veterans managed to score 153 in their 22 overs.

With 154 to chase in their 22 overs the openers for Lyceum Alumni got their team off to a reasonable start as they found the gaps and played intelligently but not for long as soon after contributing a few runs they were dismissed. This allowed Ovais Anjum Gulzar to come in and he pushed Aga Khan Veterans on the back foot from ball one. He scored a very stylish 63 of just 44. He was so good that none of the bowler threatened him. He was very well supported by Khurram Amin who not only made a very useful 28 not out but also rotated the strike on regular intervals to give Ovais much of the strike. Aga Khan Veterans were completely outplayed by the brilliance of Lyceum Alumni batters. In the end Lyceum Alumni won easily by 6 wickets.
