Southend Stallions Vs Southend Hawks (Southend Premier League)
A tight contest between the Southend Stallions and the Southend Hawks. Both of the teams were equally matched and weren't able to taste victory.
Rafeeq Ghazi gave his side a mega start in the first innings by scoring an amazing 48 runs in the opening phase of the match. Abrar Ul Haq was the third man in and he scored 67 runs for his team. Zahid Ali and Raja Zaheer kept the ball rolling and the scoreboard ticking by carrying a wonderful partnership of 66 runs. After the top batting order was dismissed, none of the other batsmen were successful in getting up some decent runs up on the scoreboard. Southend Hawks also came out with a strong bowling attack and were successful in containing the opposition from setting a huge target. Khizar was the star bowler with his amazing spell of 3 overs and got 3 wickets to his name. Southend Stallions scored a total of 248 runs in 40 overs.
Southend Hawks were off to a glorious flying start with their opening pair in the second innings. Mustafa Ali and Faraz Wahid played some incredible shots and got some big numbers on the scoreboard for their side. Mustafa Ali scored 56 runs off 34 balls and Faraz Wahid scored 25 runs. After their wickets went down, Kashif was the man to score 21 runs and keep the scoreboard running. Rest of the top batting order wasn't able to make a difference. Saad Tariq came in from the middle batting order and scored 44 runs for his side. And after his dismissal Ali Ahmed was the last player to score 28 runs for the team. On the other hand Southend Stallion were doing a brilliant job with the ball and Waleed was the key bowler to pick up 3 wickets. The entire team was dismissed in 39 overs but luckily they managed to tie the match and reach the total of 248 runs.
The match ended as a draw.
