Despite the setback, Wajid Khan showcased his batting prowess, playing a brilliant innings of 76 runs off 54 deliveries. He remained unbeaten throughout the innings, providing a strong backbone to the Spartans’ batting effort. Usman Aftab contributed a valuable 33 runs off 28 balls to further stabilize the innings. Unfortunately, the rest of the Sadiq Steel Spartans’ batting lineup struggled against the bowling attack of Medicam Strikers. Abdullah Nawab proved to be the standout performer, claiming an impressive five-wicket haul. His accurate bowling dismantled the Spartans’ batting order, restricting them to a modest total of 153 runs for the loss of eight wickets. Ahsan Islam also chipped in with two wickets.
Chasing the target of 153 runs, Medicam Strikers came out with a determined approach. Opener Muhammad Yaseen provided a solid start, playing a brisk innings of 59 runs off just 40 deliveries. His aggressive stroke play set the foundation for the Strikers’ successful run chase. Ali Butt joined the party and played a sensational unbeaten knock of 63 runs off 35 balls, displaying excellent shot selection and timing. Kashan Fahim played a brief cameo, scoring 11 runs off 7 deliveries.
