MK Greens Cruise to Easy Victory

MK Greens chased down Sky Hawks’ low total to win the match in the 26th Challengers Cup.

Batting first, Sky Hawks were off to a rocky start as they lost one of their openers for just 4 runs. However, opener Muhammad Yasir’s 37 off 26 balls and one-down batsman Hassan Waheed’s run-a-ball 29 stabilized the innings as they maintained a strong partnership. Despite their efforts, the middle-order and tail-end failed to contribute meaningfully to the team’s score, and were dismissed for single digit scores. MK Greens’ bowlers bowled economically, putting pressure on the batsmen and restricting them to a total of just 114. Zaid Umer and Dr. Younas Paracha picked up 3 wickets each while Ali Haider picked up 2.

MK Greens’ opening batsman got out early on in the innings but Hurair Shahid and Waqar Zubair played a composed innings and made significant efforts to chase down the target. Hurair scored 34 off 32 balls while Waqar smashed 39 off 29 balls and ensured his team were victorious. Farrukh Saeed’s 20 runs also helped the team defeat their opponents. Sky Hawks’ bowling attack were weak in front of the batsmen and only took 2 wickets. Only Latif Ahmed and Kashif Kabra prevented runs from leaking.

MK Greens sealed an 8 wicket victory.
