Okhai hold nerve to leave NHG heartbroken

Okhai Memon Jamat Vs Nazeer Hussain Gymkhana (15th Challengers Cup)

Stunning game with both teams fighting till the last ball ended with Nazeer Hussain Gymkhana left dejected with their 1 run lost to Okhai Memon Jamat.

Cricket is a game of nerve and it has been proven yet again in this astonishing fixture between two brilliant sides. A game where no team deserved to lose as both gave their best to win but in the end it was Okhai Memon Jamat who conquered it with narrowest of victories.

It was a breathtaking match throughout, but the finish was something spectacular. Incredible match it was as no one gave up till the last ball was bowled. Shattered were the players from Nazeer Hussain Gymkhana as they gave it their all and yet they ended up on the losing side.

It all started with ferocious assault from Bilal Omer of Okhai Memon Jamat which put Okhai Memon Jamat in a position of authority, he along with Shakir who played a very composed innings of 37 demolished the opposition with a big partnership between them. Bilal went on to score a splendid hundred of just 60 balls which included 3 humongous sixes. Though the cherry on the cake was put on by a splendid innings by Rabish Ahmed, who scored a scorching 61 of just 27. Okhai Memon Jamat in the end managed to score a huge 216 of their 20 overs.

The first innings was not what Nazeer Hussain Gymkhana wanted it to be but they still believed that they can chase the target. They got the start that they were after as chasing a big score requires your top order to fire and that’s what Amin and Faizan did with their quick knocks of 30 and 23 respectively but they could not bat for long as both were dismissed when they were looking more and more threatening to the opposition. Nazeer Hussain Gymkhana kept losing wickets and the hopes of chasing the score down were beginning to fade away until Ashan came in. It was Ahsan who gave another lifeline to his team and with his scintillating innings of 84 which included 5 atrocious sixes Nazeer Hussain Gymkhana started believing again, Ahsan was supported by Hassan Qazi who scored 37 of 22. This partnership was looking threatening and at one stage it looked like they would take their side home but not to be as Bilal Omer got rid of Hassan and after him Usman Ghani to bring his side back in the contest. All hopes were with Ahsan now but the pressure situation got the better of hard hitting batsman as Nazeer Hussain Gymkhana fell short just by 1 run and emotions were on full display, they were left in shock and were heartbroken.
