Outstanding Opals v Super Sapphires
Burhani T20 League
Outstanding Opals batted first and were off to a disastrous start, losing both openers Hussain and Lamak for just 1 run. Sapphires lethal bowling ripped through the top order, taking 5 quick wickets leaving the Opals batsmen helpless against the opposition. Hussain Taha then stepped in to provide some relief with an match-saving knock of 75 runs to pull his team right back in the game. He was backed by Ali Akber who also contributed a valuable 22 runs in his innings. Outstanding Opals were simply outdone by Hatim, Mansoor, Tahir and Abbeezar who bowled the opposition out in perfect rhythm allowing them to post a modest target of 145 in 19.4 overs.
Super Sapphires were off to a disastrous start in their chase, losing their top 3 batsmen for just 6 runs. Tahir and Mustafa then stepped in to keep their team's chances alive, contributing 41 and 24 runs respectively. Wickets fell in regular intervals however as Sapphire's batting line up was unable to gain stability at any stage. Opals bowlers did well to limit the opposition, taking wickets at key times and stopping the flow of runs. Mustafa Burhan was the last notable batsmen for his side with a late surge of 20 runs but it wasn't enough to get his team over the line. Lamak took two wickets for Opals but it was an all round tight performance by their unit that eventually guided their team to victory. Super Sapphires were restricted to 141 in 20 overs.
Outstanding Opals won by 4 runs.
