Pakistan Pride XI Win the Series Opener

PAKISTAN PRIDE XI vs KARACHI CC

 (6TH CAMPAIGNER TROPHY)

The 6th Campaigner Trophy kicked off with great excitement as two talented lineups locked horns in the inaugural match. Pakistan Pride XI batted first and were off to an outstanding start. Both openers placed the ball extremely well and gave a solid start to their team. Meraj scored 27 runs off just 12 balls and after his departure, the baton was picked by Nomi and Rohan who scored 22 and 27 runs respectively. One end was secured from the beginning by Jahangir who batted with calmness and control and scored 65 runs off 53 balls. Abdul Qadir and Zahir Khan took one wicket each and Pakistan Pride XI finished off with 166 for 3 on the board.

Karachi CC started their chase in a shaky manner as the pressure of scoring at above 8 an over got the better of them. The top order collapsed and apart from Haris Amin no other batsman from the top order managed to reach twenties. Haris scored 21 runs from 15 balls before he got out. Amir Mamu, Tahir, Rehan and Shayan created problems for the batsmen as they got 2 wickets each and halted the flow of runs. A decent effort in the later phase of the innings by Hassan Ali who scored 31, and Zahir Khan who scored 22, allowed Karachi CC to cross 100 runs. But they were well short off the target as they were all out only 115 runs on the board in the 18th over. The match was won by Pakistan Pride XI by 51 runs.
