Karachi Panthers went up against Master Blasters in an ACM Gold T20 Super League match at SKBZ.
The Blasters batted first but couldn't blast their way to a good start as they lost their top three batsmen cheaply thanks to some wonderful bowling up front by Madni in particular who picked up 2 wickets. The innings was resurrected by a well made half century by Saqlain Shah. His 54 off 40 balls was the only telling contribution in the entire innings as none of his team mates were able to cross 16. The Blasters limped to 119 for 9 in 20 overs, with Umer picking up 3 and Madni, Khalid and Israr all picking up two wickets each, setting up a relatively easy target for the Panthers.
The Panthers came out all guns blazing as Abrar Abooli and Rameez Mehboob smashed one boundary after another to knock the Blasters down completely. Abrar lost his wicket for a well made 39 off 37 but Rameez made good off his purple patch remaining till the end. His 77 not out of 39 balls was enough to see the Panthers cruise to a comfortable 9 wicket win.
