PDXI Vs Defence XI

PDXI batted first against the Defence XI in the first innings of the match with Muhammad Hasham and Zeeshan Bangash leading from the front. The opening batsmen gave their best to give their side a mega start and played a partnership of 40 runs. Rizwan Arif from the Defence XI got the honour of breaking up this partnership with his amazing bowling spell and also picked up 2 more wickets later on in the match. Nabeel Akram was the third man in and he scored 21 runs for his team. Ali Affan played a tremendous innings of 49 runs, just a step away from his half century and who could have stopped him other than Rizwan Arif who was on fire in this innings. Junaid Yaqoob scored 34 runs and lost his wicket to the same bowler. In 20 overs, PDXI scored a total of 177 runs.

Defence XI seemed to be in the danger zone with their opening performance at the start of the second innings, when their opening pair went down after scoring 26 runs together. However Zia Uddin came to his teams rescue and played a brilliant innings of 53 runs that gave his side a morale boost as well as a score boost on the scoreboard. Babar and Mustafa Memon were the last pair to carry a decent partnership of 37 runs and after their wickets went down, rest of the batting order came stumbling down one after the other. It was almost like as if Defence XI had given up and PDXI was attacking them with brute force with an amazing bowling attack. Ali Affan was the highest wicket taker with 2 wickets to his name. Defence XI was bowled out at the end of 20 overs at a total of 151 runs.

PDXI won by 26 runs.
