Diamond XI batted first and got off to a flying start as their openers Musharaf and Ali smacked the bowlers around and used the power play very well. They added more than 50 runs together in which Musharaf managed to score 37 of 29 whereas Ali scored 21 of 25. After their dismissal, Afzal along with Kamran propelled the innings forward as they scored 22 each but they also were not able to contribute big and got out once they were looking set. On the other hand, the bowlers did a great job for PDXI with Muhammad Fasihullah picking up 4 wickets and Wasiq managed to bag 3. In the end, Diamond XI scored 142.
The score was not a big one and PDXI batsmen did not want to drag the match to the last ball as they were in ultra-aggressive mode from ball 1. Ali Affan was the one to give PDXI a splendid start, he attacked the bowlers and smashed 2 sixes during his 58 which came of just 32 balls. He got support from almost everyone. Once he was dismissed for 58, the score kept on moving as the next batsmen took advantage of early momentum. The entire middle order contributed for PDXI and in the end Usman, who remained not out on 20 took his side to an easy win only in 16.2 overs.
