KPS VS PERCEPTIONS
SOUTHEND PREMIER LEAGUE
KPS and Perceptions featured in this low scoring fixture of the Southend Premier League. KPS batted first and had a disastrous start. Two of the top four batsmen did not contribute anything to the scoreboard and the other two failed to reach the double figures. This collapse was halted by Junaid Fazal and Imran Chauhan. Junaid scored 22 runs while Imran gathered 17 runs. Later Zahir Hussain played a cautious innings of 28 runs which consumed 34 balls. Sarfaraz Khan and Naveed Ahmed were in top bowling form as they got 3 wickets each. KPS scored 118 runs after 20 overs for the loss of 9 wickets.
Perceptions needed to bat with a lot of sense and stability, in order to chase this total. But the opening stand could not last long as Anas Ahmed was back in the pavillion after scoring only 6 runs. This could have been a prelude for another collapse, but Abrar Ul Haq and Mazhar Hussain had other ideas. Both of them played with controlled agression and made the chase look easier. Abrar scored 41 runs off 34 balls while Mazhar took just 27 deliveries to reach 43 runs. It was the 11th over when Perceptions chased the target and won the match by 9 wickets.
