KPS Vs Perceptions (Southend Premier League)
Brilliant spell from Naveed Ahmed ensured that he stars in his team's one sided win over KPS.
The first innings belonged to Naveed Ahmed as he single handedly destroyed the oppositions batting line. With his tremendous line, length and control he ripped out the heart from KPS as he picked up 4 wickets in his brilliant spell. Earlier, KPS were off to a good start as top 3 batsmen looked in good touch but all could not convert their starts into big scores. It was then the introduction of Naveed Ahmed that did not allow KPS to dictate terms instead he bowled and demolished the middle order of KPS. KPS were going nowhere after a brilliant spell of bowling from Naveed Ahmed but late in the innings cameo from Sami Khan who scored a brilliant 43 of just 22 took KPS to 121.
The target for Perceptions was not too big and their top order ensured that they do not take it to the last over. Infact the batsmen were in a hurry in the second innings. All the top 4 batsmen reached the double figures and at the quick rate. Foz e Azeem of the 4 was the most destructive as he scored with a strike rate of 288 and remained unbeaten during his knock of 26. The modest target of 121 was chased easily only in 14 overs for the loss of just 3 wickets.
