Perceptions clashed with Southend Youth in this thrilling fixture of the Southend Premier League. Perceptions batted first and were off to a steady start as openers Anas Ahmed and Mukhtar Ahmed played sensible knocks. Anas Ahmed scored 22 runs while his partner Mukhtar gathered 27 runs. After a decent opening stand, a shaky performance was displayed by the middle order. But the remedial work was done by Foz e Azam and Rao Tahir, who scored 34 and 44 runs respectively. Noor ul Islam and Taha Saeed bowled well and got two wickets apiece. At the end of 20 overs Perceptions scored 165 runs for the loss of 7 wickets.
Southend Youth started their chase with a decent display of batting by the top order. Afnan Karim and Umair Arshad scored 29 and 31 runs respectively and put their team in a fighting position. But the middle order failed to perform its job and this proved to be fatal for Southend Youth. Rao Tahir was the best bowler as he picked up 3 wickets for 23 runs. Southend Youth could score only 126 runs for the loss of 7 wickets after 20 overs. Perceptions won the match by 39 runs.
