A brilliant spell from Madni of Karachi Panthers helped his side in destroying Karachi Gladiators in a big win.
Karachi Panthers batted first and there was no major contribution from any of their batsmen but instead everyone contributed in bits and pieces. They lost their first wicket when Faisal Ghouri reached 8 and miscommunication with his partner between the wicket cost him his wicket. Then Shumail Katchi along with Hassan Saleem carried the innings forward. Hassan Saleem played a quick cameo of 20 before he was dismissed. On the other hand, Shumail Katchi had a nightmare with the bat as he was struggling to find the gaps. He was low on confidence and was not timing the ball well, he made 25 but consumed 40 balls. But it was all covered up by Rameez Aziz's fine cameo, who ended the innings on a high with his magnificent 34 of just 22. Akber was the pick of the bowler as he dismissed 3 batsmen and gave away only 25. In the end Karachi Panthers could only managed to get 145.
The reply from Karachi Gladiators was a disappointing one as second innings belonged to Madni. He attacked with the new ball and bowled an inspiring spell. He broke the backbone of Karachi Gladiators innings and did not allow them any room to settle in. Only one batsmen from Karachi Gladiator innings managed to score in double figures and the rest of the scorecard was disappointing one. Madni picked up 4 wickets at an economy of 5.25, but he was equally supported by rest of the bowlers in achieving a big victory by 80 runs.
