QP Star Fall Short in Close Game

ATCO Laboratories went up against QP Star in a closely fought contest.

ATCO batsmen got off to a flyer in the first innings as the openers Faizan Khan and Farhan charged at the bowlers aggressively. Faizan scored a fluent 40 off 31 with Farhan securing 28 from 11 balls. A steady middle order batting display further pressurized the bowling side. Fahad and Shaheer Rao put ATCO on the path towards a solid 150 plus score. However, a couple of quick strikes towards the end derailed the batting side and contained them under 200. At the loss of seven wickets, ATCO managed to set a target of 184.

QP Star batsmen responded well, starting steadily to chase down a tricky target. Opener Wajid Khan played a decent hand, falling just 3 short of a half century. Sameed added onto this effort with 40 runs of his own off just 24 balls. The remaining middle order could not produce any significant runs as the burden of the chase fell upon the lower order. Danish, at No. 8, stepped up and scored a magnificent 44 off just 19 deliveries. His uplifting efforts briefly gave QP Star hope of chasing down the target, but a lack of support at the other end allowed the Masaqa CC bowlers to come out on top. With just one ball left in the innings, Masaqa CC knocked over the last man at the crease, leaving QP Star stranded at 177. Muqtadir Abbas and Zeeshan contributed to the bowling effort with 2 wickets apiece.

ATCO Laboratories won this match by 6 runs.
