Rangoonwala Cruise to the Semifinals

Rangoonwala yet again proved their mettle as they thrashed K-Town to qualify for the semifinals of the Ramzan Super Sixes.

Batting first K-Town were off to a promising start. Opener Bilal Hayat lead from the front scoring a brilliant knock of 33 runs in just 19 balls to set the tone for a massive total. He was supported by Waqas who did well to rotate the strike and keep the scoreboard ticking. However, runs were few and far between as the Rangoonwala bowlers did well to strike at key times and limit the flow of runs. Sajjad Mirza was the pick of the bowlers giving away only 3 runs in his spell. All did not go right for the men in purple however as they gave away 22 extras and were unable to keep it tight. The rest of the batting line up however could not captalize on the start provided by the openers and K-Town managed to score only 51 runs for the loss of 2 wickets at the end of 5 overs.

The target was achievable and all Rangoonwala had to do was hold their nerves. Fayaz and Sheroz got their team off to a fiery start scoring 25 and 15 runs respectively. K-Town bowler Ali fought hard against the opposition, picking up 1 wicket and giving away only 11 runs. He received little support from the rest of his side who eventually gave away 23 runs that cost them the game.

Rangoonwala chased the target in 3.4 overs and booked a place in the semifinals.
