Rangoonwala Dominate Qasmi CC

This fun filled 10 over match was played between two terrific teams at the Nazimabad Gymkhana, famously known as Anu Bhai Park. Rangoonwala batted first and were off to a steady start. Ahsan and Zakir Malik provided the needed foundation for a good total. Ahsan scored 14 while Zakir Malik went on to score 34 runs. Zakir hit 3 fours and equal number of sixes in his 9 ball assault. With this solid start, the rest of the bating lot displayed similar efforts and with 32 runs from Nasir in the concluding phase of the innings, Rangoonwala posted 130 runs on the board. In the 10 overs they faced, Rangoonwala lost 7 wickets after scoring at a huge run rate of 13. Wasim Ali, Rizwan and Abid Qasmi managed to get two wickets each while Imran Ali sent one batsman back to the pavilion.

Keeping in mind that you have a required run rate of 13, the batting lineup needed to blast from the word go. But this required run rate comes with a huge pressure, which sometimes proves to be fatal for even the best teams in the world. Qasmi CC was not an exception, as the batsmen were unable to maintain the high scoring rate and kept losing wickets. Only a handful of batsmen could reach the double figures, and even they could not contribute significantly and the Qasmi CC could score only 80 runs at the end of 10 overs. 2 wickets each were picked by Bilal and Toheed. 1 wicket apiece was taken by Fawad and Mudassir Ali while it was the impeccable bowling performance by Nasir which helped his side to restrict the opposition. He took 3 wickets for 16 runs.

Rangoonwala won the match by 50 runs.
