Rangoonwala Win by 14 Runs

BUBBERS VS RANGOONWALA (RAMZAN SUPER SIXES SEMIFINAL)

Rangoonwala had an unstoppable run in the group stages of the tournament and were in-form and ready to fire on the day. The team were tough competitors for the Bubbers who came into the game well prepared and ready to fight back for a place in the finals.

Rangoonwala batted first and were off to a rocky start, losing their first wicket early on in the innings. Zakir Malik and M.Azhar then lead the recovery, taking control to steady the team's innings. The duo scored 27 and 34 runs respectively propelling their team to an impressive total. Ali Samir and Humza Obaid took one wicket a piece while Zyre Qazi and Zohaib Jawad bowled economical overs to try and stop the flow of runs. A late surge of 11 runs off 4 balls by Fayyaz however further enabled Rangoonwala to post 85 runs for the loss of 3 wickets at the end of 5 overs.

Some days you only get one shot to get it right. The battle was on. The tension was real. Bubbers needed an extraordinary team performance to pull of  a victory. The team fumbled in their chase, losing opener Mustufa when he was just off the mark. Rangoonwala's bowlers were ruthless and aggressive, trying hard to capitalize on the situation. Shamas and Zyre Qazi however delayed their celebrations. Shamas scored 31 off 13 while Zyre scored 11 of 8 pulling the Bubbers right back in the game. However their fortunate run with the bat was short lived after Zyre was dismissed and Shamas had to retire. Zakir Malik took one wicket and gave away just 9 runs while Zaheer bowled economically, giving away only 8 runs. Despite getting 13 extras, Bubbers managed to score only 61 runs at the end of 5 overs losing 3 wickets.

Rangoonwala sailed through to the finals of the Ramzan Super Sixes by a margin of 14 runs.

M.Azhar was awarded the man of the match.
