In a big encounter, which turned out to be a one-sided match due to the brilliant all-round display from Rising Star C.C which helped them overcome the strong-willed Nazeer Hussain Gymkhana.
Rising Star went out to bat in the first innings and got were pushed to the backfoot straight away as Haji Abdul Rehman was sent back to the pavilion without troubling the scorers. An early loss created some panic in Rising Star’s camp but Adeel and Zia calmed some nerves with their good little partnership. Adeel scored 32 and Zia managed to get to 17 of 8 balls, he smashed 2 sixes. After them, Shumail Aziz propelled the score ahead with his crucial knock of 45 from 37 balls. He along with Abbas smashed the bowlers around and kept the scoreboard ticking. Abbas also contributed well with 34 of 24 balls. The bowling was good in patches and Zeeshan Ali was the highest wicket taker with 2 wickets. In the end Rising Star managed to get to 166 in 20 overs.
In response, the pressure of chasing in a big match got the better of Nazeer Hussain Gymkhana as they faltered early in the chase of 166. Mustafa Fatani and Zeeshan Fattani demolished the top order with their brilliant bowling. Both gave away 22 runs and picked up crucial early wickets. After the early losses, Farukh Rizvi chipped in with crucial 33 runs of 30 balls, he smashed 3 fours during his stay at the crease. But Rising Star kept building the pressure and never let the batsmen take charge of the game at any stage. Talha Ahsan also picked up 2 wickets for just 20 runs whereas Muzzamil Lakhani picked up final 3 wickets to wrap up the innings. This gave Rising Star an easy victory by 34 runs.
