Rising Star thrash Shan XI

Rising Star CC Vs Shan XI (15th Challengers Cup)

A collective batting effort followed by a match winning spell from Humza gave Rising Star CC an easy win against Shan XI.

Rising Star batted first and were off to a reasonable start with their openers scoring 20s to start off the innings. It was a bright partnership which set the tone of rest of the innings. Zia scored 26 of 15 with one gigantic six whereas Haji Abdul Rehman scored 24 of 17. The innings was carried forward by the middle order though there was no big partnership or not a very big innings from any of the batsmen but still they batted in pairs and added crucial runs to the team’s total. Shan XI kept picking wickets at regular intervals but the momentum of scoring runs was not lost from the batsmen and the innings was ended in a great fashion by Sarwar as he smashed 21 runs and hit the second six of the Rising Star’s innings.  In the end they reached 156 for 8 in their 20 overs.

The start was a poor one from Shan XI in their second innings as Fahad Ali was out on a duck after playing 7 dot balls. It was not according to the scripts but Talha and Iqbal with their partnership tried to bring their side back in the hunt they scored 18 and 32 respectively. Iqbal during his innings hit the only six of the innings but unfortunately for Shan XI they could not bat for long and were dismissed when they were looking set. The rest of the batting lineup had no answer and it got collapsed as Humza bowled a brilliant spell and he bamboozled the batsmen with his fine bowling. He picked up 3 wickets in his 4 over spell which meant Rising Star defended 156 quite comfortably and won easily by 38 runs.
