Royal Dolphins Succumb To Narrow Defeat

The Chayellz clashed with the Royal Dolphins in the 25th Challengers Cup.

The first innings featured a wavered batting display from the Chayellz. Their top order scored modestly, unable to get past 25 runs. Owais Karni at No. 6 top-scored for them with 40 off 20 balls. Saddam Faiz batted alongside to produce 35 from 26 deliveries. Royal Dolphins crawled back into the game with quick wickets at this stage. They inspired 4 run outs in the field, putting the batting side in the backseat again. Ashar Usmani bowled well to pick up 2 wickets for 18 runs. By the end of 20 overs, the Chayellz set the opposition a target of 156.

Royal Dolphins CC lost a wicket early in the chase. Ali Adreesh managed 49 runs but scored at under the strike rate of a 100. Runs came very slowly for the Dolphins in the initial half of the second innings. The middle order tried to get some quick runs to meet the required run rate but no pair was able to post a decent partnership. Kamran Siddique helped defend the target with his 3 wickets for 26 runs. Eventually, the required rate got away from the batting side and they fell short in the last over.

The Chayyellz won by 12 runs.
