SHAH LATIF CC vs SHADAB SPORTS (FC CHALLENGERS CUP MATCH)
Shah Latif CC clashed with Shadab Sports in this one sided fixture. Where one team was simply outplayed by the other.
Shadab Sports batted first and their openers could not start the way they had planned. After losing Umair Zahid for 7 and Usama Naeem for 5, problems did not halt for Shadab Sports as Danish Saleem also departed without any significant contribution. Now Talha Faheem was joined by Syed Baqar. These two had to play with responsibility and provide some stability to their team. Syed Baqar showed signs of calmness with his 30 run knock which came off in 35 deliveries. But on the other hand, Talha Faheem decided to launch a counter attack. He played an innings he will never forget, as he went on to score 82 runs off just 46 balls at a strike rate of 178.26. Talha’s batting enabled his team to post 154 runs for the loss of 7 wickets after 20 overs. Shahid Shah claimed 2 scalps for 25 runs while Shahab Khan, M Fahad and Ibraheem Khan bagged one wicket each.
Troubles seemed to be a part of the Shah Latif CC innings from the word go. Opener Ibraheem Khan scored 14 off 9 and then five successive batsmen failed to reach the double figures. Rafay Malik bowled the spell of his life as he claimed 4 wickets for just 9 runs. The batsmen had no answers for his accurate line and length. Mehboob Alam tried his best to repair the damaged and hold the innings together. He played cautiously and managed 23 runs off 36 balls. His innings increased the required run rate to a greater extent. Khalid Anwar and Shahab Khan tried to score some runs in the culminating phase of the innings. Khalid Anwar’s 33 and Shahab Khan’s 27 runs were not enough to sail their team towards victory. Apart from Rafay Malik, Zeeshan Nasir and Faisal Iqbal also bowled well. Zeeshan got 2 wickets while Faisal Iqbal sent one batsmen back to pavilion.
Shadab Sprts won the match by 36 runs.
