Shamsher Khan C.C Vs United C.C (15th Challengers Cup)
A herculean effort from Umair as he smashed a brilliant century gave his side a comfortable win against United in this high scoring clash.
Shamsher Khan batted first and the start they got was an ideal one. They could not had asked for a better beginning then what they got as their openers took the liking to United CC bowlers and smashed them all around the park during their blistering stand. Haris and Umair added more than 150 runs together and smashed 8 sixes in between them. Umari scored a brilliant century of just 59 balls with 6 gigantic sixes and 9 brilliant boundaries. He was in top form and was supported by Haris who scored 66 runs and smashed 2 sixes and 7 fours. The opening partnership put Shamsher Khan CC on the right track and it demoralized the United CC players. United CC though took quick wickets after the departure of openers but it was a too little too late as Shamsher Khan CC amassed 219 in their 20 overs.
United CC during their chase looked up for the challenge as just like the Shamsher Khan’s openers, United’s openers also got off to a flying start. Irfan Nagri and Sumair Patel smashed the bowlers all around the park and set the tone for rest of the innings with their great hitting. Irfan Nagri scored a brilliant quickfire 31 with 5 fours and 1 six whereas Sumair Patel scored a brilliant 63 of 36 with 9 fours and 1 six. Once the openers were dismissed Arsal Ali carried the innings forward and chase was very much on until these 3 were smashing the bowlers but unfortunately for United CC rest of the batsmen could not handle the pressure and stumbled. Arsal Ali scored 51 of 30 balls with 2 sixes and 5 fours but the middle order could not give him support and Shamsher Khan CC came back well in the game and in the end they restricted the United CC to just 187.
