Defence Cricket Club batted first and were off to a flying start, their openers, Yasir and Atif batted aggressively in the power play. Yasir scored 15 of 8 and was the more attacking batsman but could not carry his innings forward as it was cut short by Salman Khan and his partner Atif scored 21 of 18 balls. Once they were dismissed the innings was propelled forward by Zia and Umer as they both added more than 60 runs to their team’s total. Umer played an aggressive knock as he smashed 36 of just 18 with a strike rate of 200, he blasted 2 massive sixes during his blitz, his partner Zia calmly added 33 of 32 with 4 fours. The bowling was also good in patches from Shan Foods but they could not maintain the consistency, Sheraz Ali was the most impressive bowler picking up 3 wickets whereas Meraj and Samraiz also chipped in with 2 wickets each. Defence Cricket Club managed to score 172 in their 20 overs.
In response, Defence Cricket Club started positively picking up wickets cheaply initially but Syed Rafi Uddin was strong on the other end. He played a memorable knock and even after wickets falling at the regular intervals from the other end, he kept his composure and scored a brilliant 74 runs with 5 gigantic sixes and at just 40 balls with a magnificent strike rate of 185. After losing entire middle order for not much contributions, Rafi was joined by Meraj Khan who gave him great support with 40 of 23 balls. Defence Cricket Club bowled well and kept picking up wickets, Atif was the pick with 3 wickets, but they could not dismantle the pair of Rafi and Meraj which proved to be costly in the end as Shan Foods won by 3 wickets.
