Southend Youth on the back of Maqbool Ahmed's brilliant 95 overpowered Acme Technologies by 33 runs.
Southend Youth batted first and they were off to a shaky start in the opening overs as they lost 2 quick wickets without much contribution. But Acme Technologies were not able to capatiliaze on the good start given by Ahmed who dismissed both early wickets as Maqbool Ahmed and Usama Khawar started to put pressure back on the bowling side. Maqbool Ahmed was the main contributor and he was in no mood to play it safe as he was in brilliant form with the bat, during his stay he smashed bowlers all around the park and was hardly troubled by any bowler. He scored a brilliant 95 of just 52 balls and was given great support by Usama Khawar who scored 38. They together took Southend Youth to a very defendable score of 172.
Acme Technologies proved no match to Southend Youth as combination of brilliant fielding and reckless running shattered their dreams of chasing 172. After a dismal start it was up to Azad and Adnan Siddiqui to rescue their team from danger. They battled for a little while and were looking in good touch but as soon as both reached 29 brilliance in the field and poor running cost them their wickets. After that the batting order crumbled and could not managed to stay on the crease for long as their innings folded for just 139 only in 18.2 overs.
