Southend Panthers Vs Southend Champions
A beautiful all round perofrmance by the Southend Champions that served them well by honoring them with the victory and they became the true champions.
Jafar Qureshi and Rehan Sheikh were the opening batsmen for the Southend Panthers in the first innings. They did not provide their team with a decent start and lost their wickets to Faraz Rafiq after scoring 11 runs only. However, Shoaib Akhter was the third man in and he gave his side something to cheer about and scored 48 runs. Faraz Rafiq was on fire with his bowling attack and he also dismissed Shoaib Akhter. Batsmen came in and went after scoring minor runs, but Younus Paracha was the man to grab some big runs and put them up on the scoreboard. He scored 30 runs and lost his wicket to Ahmed Arshad. Faraz Rafiq was the highest wicket taker for the Southend Champions with 4 wickets to his name. Southend Panthers scored a total of 123 runs after loosing all of it wickets in 27 overs.
Looking at the run rate requires, the Southend Champions seemed to be pretty confident about the chase. Tahir Farrukh and Khurram Karim were the opening batsmen for their side. Tahir went down after scoring 6 runs, but the damage was covered by Khurram Karim who scored 30 runs. Mohsin Lakhoo was the third man in and he also contributed to the chase by scoring 30 runs. After their wickets went down, Ubaid played some nice shots and got 22 runs on the scoreboard. And it was Ahmed Arshad who played the winning shots and scored 14 runs to take his team to the glory spot. Southend Champions chased the target in 27 overs.
