Southend Youth and Acme Technologies clashed each other in this rain affected fixture of the Southend Premier League. Acme Technologies batted first and were off to a terrible start as they lost the first wicket without a score. But Adnan Siddiqui and Saif held the innings together with scoring 38 and 33 runs respectively. Ali Butt also contributed well with his 16 ball 23 runs. Arbaz Khan bowled well for his 3 wickets and Acme Technologies scored 150 runs for the loss of 7 wickets after 20 overs.
Southend Youth lost a wicket quite earler than their expectation as they started to chase the target. But the scoring rate did not halt as Afnan Karim and Mustafa Mazhar batted with calmness. Irfan Shaikh took two wickets and then Abdullah Tahir joined Mustafa Mazhar. Abdullah looked composed as he scored 22 runs off 27 balls, but it was the climate which helped the batting side more. Only 12.2 overs were bowled when play was interrupted by rain. Southend Youth were at par with the Duckworth Lewis score as they had scored 98 runs so far. The match was won by Southend Youth by 26 runs by Duckworth Lewis method.
