Hawks v Karachi Stallions
Hawks played against Karachi Stallions in the Quarter Final of the 7th Residence cup at SKBZ Cricket Ground. Hawks batted first and were all out for a competitive 183 runs. A Rehman scored 31 runs while Zain got 24, Idrees 22, Fahad 32 and Saqlain got a quick fire 33 runs off just 14 balls. For Stallions, Hasan, Mustafa and Saad took 2 wickets each while Usman, Abdus Samad , Zeeshan and Hasan picked up a wicket each.
In reply, Stallions started off in aggressive fashion as Muhammad Shahzad Anwar Arain (Gullu) posted a quick fire 77 runs off just 34 balls in an innings which include 4 boundaries and 7sixes. Adnan Salim then propelled the chase with 39 runs off 21 balls in a 114 run opening partnership with Shahzad Arain. Saad Dawood also scored 23 runs but Hawks pulled back the momentum in the last few overs. Once again however, Shahzad stepped up to the plate under pressure and delivered by scoring 16 runs off just 5 balls which included 2 huge sixes to take his team home. For Hawks, Talha got 2 wickets while Anas, Idrees and Zain took a wicket each and there were 2 run outs. Karachi Stallions now face Karachi Patriots in a semi final next Saturday.
