Steady Knights thrash nervous Sparks

Knights Vs Sparks (Women’s Cricket Tournament)

Spirited performance from Knights smack Sparks in this one-sided encounter as they chase down 42 in just 3 overs.

This was the first match for both these sides in this tournament and both wanted to start with a win. Sparks batted first and were off to a steady start with their openers stood tall in front of early pressure built by Knights bowlers. Amreen (21) and Noor (16) were playing it safe in the early half, no lose shots were played and both steadily built the partnership. The partnership was a strong one but in the later stages of Sparks innings, the openers who were well set missed the kind of spark that would put their side in a total dominant position. On the other hand, Knights ended the innings on a high as they did not allow the batswomen to get on top in the later stages. Alishba lead the way with her fine bowling as she gave only 9 runs in her only over. Sparks in the managed to score 42 in their 5 overs.

The score was a good one but also chaseable and the first over set the tone of the innings for Knights. Even though Maeda picked up the only wicket to fall in the first over but the wicket cost her 19 runs in her only over. This left Knights to get 23 more runs in 4 overs and they did it quite comfortably without any more hiccups as they chased the total down in just 3 overs, Suniya was the highest scorer with 10 runs and Alishba picked the woman of the match award for her good bowling.
