Strikers CC Vs Wonder Boys (15th Challengers Cup)
Shahrukh Salim shines with his brilliant innings of 75 of 45 balls to help his side to victory over Wonder Boys.
Strikers CC batted first and were off to a poor start as they lost quick wickets due to brilliant bowling from Sajid Ashfaq. Shahrukh and Yasir then got together and rescued the sinking ship with their fine partnership. They were the only major contributors in Strikers innings as Yasir scored 35 of 32 ball whereas Shahrukh looked in sweet touch as he smashed 75 of just 45 balls. Once both the batsmen were dismissed Wonder Boys came back strongly in the game and did not give many opportunities to rest of the batsmen to score of. Sajid Ashfaq and Furqan Nawaz were the most important contributors for Wonder Boys as they picked up 3 wickets each. In the end Strikers managed to score 142.
The score was not out of reach of Wonder Boys and they even got a good beginning on the back of Madni and Fazal both batted sensibly and put the loose balls away for boundaries. They batted for quite a while and provided a good platform to rest of the batsmen. And once they were dismissed the innings was carried forward by Hassan as he scored 39 of 35 balls but unfortunately there was no one else who could create an impact for Wonder Boys as Strikers CC bowled in tight channels and did not give easy balls to the batsmen. Abdullah and Nadeem ran through the batting order of Wonder Boys with their fine spell of bowling they picked up 3 wickets each to give their side a comfortable win in the end by 13 runs.
